Miracle on 34th Street

9:00 AM

Today I'm off and running to the always beautiful NYC to indulge in Christmas shopping/eating/and gazing. Hopefully I'll be able to share some photos from my mini adventure soon after. However, here's a little must see in my home of Maryland during the holidays to hold you over.

Each year the residents of the 700 block of 34th Street in the Baltimore community of Hampden take their holiday decorations to the next level. Started in the 1940s the tradition brings visitors from all over the world. You can easily see why, with the millions of gorgeous lights giving the block a festive glow to the more unique sights like the one above of the hubcap tree.

An obvious, holiday must see it can get a little crazy and crowded, but definitely worth it. While you're there make your down two more blocks and check out the shops and food on The Avenue. I love The Food Market and there's a "secret bar" on Hickory. Eat, drink and be merry!
