Five Accessory Trends from NYFW A/W 15

9:00 AM

NYFW was full of little bits that complete your outfit worth showcasing. While it's easy to focus on the outfits, let's focus on the details instead. From lots and lots of fur to saying goodbye to the blanket scarf here are a few things you should add to your wishlist ASAP.

 Oversized Fur
NYFW was all about the bigger the better fur. Massive fur collars (Altuzarra) and cuffs (Michael Kors) or worn as sashes (Creatures of Wind). Nearly every collection featured this plush detail. You thought fur coats were in? Wait till you start seeing these pretties pop up.

Cover Your Calves
Forget ankle, forget knee high Fall 2015 boots are somewhere inbetween hitting about mid calf. See Victoria Beckham, 3.1 Philip Lim & Suno for examples. Tougher than the dainty ankle boot but coyer than the thigh highs.

Bye Bye Blankets
If 2014 was for the blanket scarf, 2015 is all about the neck scarf. Short and oh so chic. See Coach's bandana, Tory Burch's offside ties, and Marc by Marc Jacob's art school cool girl.

Don A Cape
Embrace your inner superwoman and rock a cape. Done in multiple different ways the possibilities are endless. Wear it western style like at Ralph Lauren, draped over your shoulders like at Nicolas K or attached to your coat a la Tibi.

No Bare Legs
Forget the no tights club, wearing tights layered under your shorter skirts and coats is back in. Not only will they keep your pins warm but you'll look perfectly pulled together. From more colorful options seen at Honor & Costello Tagliapietra to the traditional black at Zimmerman forget shaking in your boots for the sake of fashion.
Will you be adding any of these bits and pieces to your Fall 2015 wardrobe? I know I have my sights set on a few things! xx
