NYFW A/W 2015 Favorites

9:00 AM

I still can't believe how fast NYFW flew by! It was a bit weird watching the shows especially since it is absolutely freezing here in the East Coast, so even thought it was meant for Fall 2015 I could see myself wrapped up in most of the outfits right now (fur stoles, gimme). If you're not a crazy lady like me and obsessively pour over every single collection, each day, here's a much watered down, condensed version of the best collections (in my humble opinion...).

The first collection to take my breath away was Creatures of Wind. I loved the 1920s meets 1970s cross over of boxy coats and capes with slinky dresses. The oversize beauty queen sashes of fur stoles literally stole the show and set the pace for the rest of NYFW. Loved this dress. and this entire look.

Jason, oh Jason. Day one did not disappoint. Jason Wu's collection was a whole lotta old school glamour. While a bit on the safer side, I loved the plush furs (it's all about the fur stoles this season you'll see even more coming up). But this sexy jumpsuit with it's deep plunge and belted fur stole my heart. Plus look at those shoes!

No one does sexy better than Altuzarra. His outerwear was something else, expertly tailored with gorgeous fox collars showing just enough skin for a confident lady. His signature slits made the perfect showcase for those thigh high boots topped with ruffles.

Looking for a glam gown? Look no further then Naeem Khan. Take a peak at those gorgeous black with gold embellished dresses: see this & this. The patterns used reminded me of Art Deco designs which, even though I personally am not crazy about Art Deco, looked amazing. This almost nude gown, is stunning.

When  you think of Diane von Furstenberg  you think of the wrap dress that made her famous. Which is probably why I was more drawn to the menswear inspired pieces featured in this collection. This pinstripe number is sexy yet office appropriate, the cut and color of this cobalt blue one is fantastic, and lastly I love this black satin collared one draped over a mini dress. Oh, and this polka dot jumpsuit is incredibly charming.

I adore the color palette at Micheal Kors: cool blue greys, warm browns and camels, muddy (but not dirty) olives. It was right up my alley. This blue fur coat Kendell Jenner is rocking is too cool, I love the massive fur cuff details on this more traditional winter coat, lastly this stunning yet demure dress is fantastic.

Ralph Lauren nailed this wild west inspired collection. Instead of looking gimmicky it screamed Americana cool. I was swooning over every single hat, this gaucho inspired cape, and lastly this outfit needs to be in my closet now.

I was honestly underwhelmed with Marc Jacobs S/S 2015 collection so I didn't really know what to expect with Fall 2015. However I was pleasantly surprised with it, a mix of dark Victorianesque/Dominatrix at the start that morphed into pattern on top of patterns (very Little Edie Beale in my opinion). It was dramatic, overwhelming (in the best possible way) and unexpected.

What were some of your favorite collections? I can't wait to see what the rest of Fashion Month brings!
