Baltimore Twenty Floors Up with Honeygrow

12:00 PM

Before I re-branded by blog I had been wanting to post about this awesome event but it didn't exactly fit content wise so I sadly shelved it. However, now it works perfectly and I couldn't be more excited to share photos and details with you. Back in January I was one of a handful of people given the opportunity to not only hear about the future of Harbor Point but to see Baltimore from twenty floors up near the top of the Exelon Tower courtesy of Honeygrow.

If you're not familiar with Honeygrow, don't worry! They are a rather young Philadelphia restaurant start up founded in 2012 by Justin Rosenberg. They have quite a handful of locations but most are condensed in the North East area and can be found in PA, NJ, DE, NY, MD and D.C. They serve wholesome foods using locally sourced ingredients with a customizable menu. My friend, photographer and social media strategist for Honeygrow's HQ, Kyle Huff, has made me as passionate about Honeygrow as he is. If you live near one or end up being near one definitely check them out (my favorites are the Sweet Soy Five Spice and the Chesapeake Crab - local to Maryland, sorry y'all outside of MD!). It was Kyle who shared with me the details for this opportunity coordinated by Honeygrow and Beatty Development.

We started ground level in the Beatty Development offices which had not only gorgeous views but had some very instagram worthy decor (see the Cherry Red SMEG, and art work). We were presented with some information on what is now currently a chunk of dirt (sorry!) will soon become. A mixed-use neighborhood space on 27 acres featuring waterfront parks, residential units, retail, and hotels all focused on sustainability and innovation. We were told about how there was a desire to not alter the land as much as possible which is incredibly admirable! Not to mention a desire to try and stay as local as possible by selling local goods. After a short presentation we were given a tour of the site, all while we were described their vision for Harbor Point. It was great to hear the passion and the excitement for the project and it certainly sounds like it'll be an amazing addition to the Baltimore area.

However, we were all most definitely looking forward to heading to the Exelon Tower. After being told that they "just washed the windows for us so that it was like there was nothing there at all" we made our way to the tower. Not going to lie, I'm not super keen on heights and I started to get a bit height nervous once seeing the building close up. Knowing it was unlikely that I would to have this opportunity again I pushed down my fears to head to the top!

Needless to say, the views are incredible, and I'm insanely jealous of whoever will live/work with them. The ceiling to floor windows made it impossible to miss anything, and yes the windows were so clean that it did feel like there was nothing there.

Keep an eye on the Harbor Point area as it's sure to be the next up and coming spot! And while you're there pop into Honeygrow.

xx
