Pizza by Elizabeths

12:00 PM

This past weekend I made my way to Delaware to help my bestie find her dream wedding gown. Progress was made (in terms of what she did not and did like) but she didn't find ~*the one*~. That's okay, though there is plenty of time!

My best friend has lived in Delaware for years now and always complains to me about the lack of things to do. I'm a huge believer in there being hidden gems everywhere so when she told me that after dress hunting we'd be going to Pizza by Elizabeths I was slightly mad she hadn't told me about this place earlier (luv u Cait). It's right up my alley.

Funny enough Pizza by Elizabeths looked shockingly like my teenage bedroom. Teal walls with black and white portraits of vintage silver screen sirens and old school glamour. Instead of Audrey Hepburn (of which I was fond of) there are portrait after portrait of famous Elizabeths. Even the pizzas are named after Eizabeths. While there are other options if pizza isn't your thing (salads, soups and more) naturally if you're going to a place called Pizza by Elizabeths you gotta try the pizza.

I opted for the Boop (named after Betty Boop pictured at the top) - fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, balsamic vinaigrette and tomatoes (I chose fresh chopped tomatoes over tomato sauce) - however I was pretty close to getting the Shannon - fig jam, Gorgonzola cheese, prosciutto and scallions. For the crust I chose the honey-wheat which tasted great with the Boop. Part of me wished there was a bit more balsamic vinaigrette on it, but I'm a sucker for balsamic so knowing me I'd be happy if it was doused in it. Offered in two sizes - mini or regular - the mini is perfect for a solo pizza where the regular seemed like it would be good to share with maybe one or two other people depending on your appetite.

There is also a lovely little bar area featuring these ultra cozy couches! I could park myself there all day. I definitely want to head back and try more of their pizzas! I'm sure it can be arranged as I anticipate being up in Delaware pretty frequently over the next year or so. If you're ever in DE I highly recommend swinging by (it's near Wilmington) and grabbing a slice (or more!) at Pizza by Elizabeths.
