Damn Fine Cup of (John Brown) Coffee

12:00 PM

For this coffee shop find, I have to give credit to my friend Shae Li of Beautifully Together. She snapped a picture of this sweet little coffee shop and the minute I saw their Twin Peaks inspired cups I knew this place and I were going to get along just fine.

John Brown Coffee is a small craft coffee shop (and by small... they mean SMALL) located off Falls Road in Cockeysville. They opened in March of 2017 in a old 1930's stone gas station next door to the John Brown General and Butchary. I'm going to be quite honest... I'm not a coffee person, I'm much more of a tea gal. But I love a good coffee shop, and love supporting local spots even more. So I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best that they had at least one or two tea options.

As mentioned above, the space is tiny. It's definitely meant to be a more of a grab-and-go place. However inside there are three stools tucked in the corner if you choose to stay, and bench seating outside under a covered patio. There were so many different coffee options, most of which went right over my head, from pour overs to drip to cold brew. Instead of coffee I had my first Turmeric Chai Tea which was delicious and am now wanting to buy turmeric to add to my office chais. The staff is ultra friendly in a warm and inviting space. I highly recommend if you're in the area to check it out. Since it is the holidays if you're hunting for a Christmas Tree there are sellers right across the street from their shop!

And why yes, I did sip my tea while eating some blackberry pie from Dangerously Delicious Pies. I think I captured the vibe of Double R Diner pretty well. Follow John Brown Coffee on Instagram!
