A Little Life Update

12:00 PM

January was a weird month for me, in that though I felt INSANELY busy I honestly didn't really do much in terms of ~*going out*~. It's been cold, and the weather has been ugh, so I've spent a lot more time in my home or my friends homes instead of out at events or parties. Which is fine with me! My bedtime seems to be getting earlier and earlier so I'm not complaining. It also felt like the longest month ever, I thought it was never going to end.

Because it's been a while since I have posted, and I'm severely lacking in content, I've decided to share a little life update with you all to bring you up to speed on the first few months of my 2018.

1. In continuing my quest for not only *perfect* skin but using all cruelty free products, I recently received some samples of Mario Badescu, Aesop, and Biossance that I've been giving a go. If those samples look teeny tiny, that's cause they are! But I've been loving trying out these products without biting the bullet (yet) and buying a full size version. Of the Mario Badescu samples I have been loving  the Enzyme Cleansing Gel, Flower & Tonic Mask and the Buttermilk Moisturizer. My wallet is also crying over how much I love the Biossance Squalane +Vitamin C Rose Oil, so I may need to splurge on that.

2. I recently went to the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) with my three good friends: Ashley, Emily and Rosemary. I hadn't been there in a while so it was nice to see all the new exhibits they have going on. It's free to visit, so it's a no brainer when in Baltimore, plus there are lots of tasty places to eat nearby. (Or inside! Gertrude's at the BMA is a dream.) Definitely check out The Succession of Nature, Entangled Orbits, and the Contemporary Wing.

3.  The two year anniversary of Book Club is coming up this February! I cannot believe A. That we have kept it going that long. B. How many amazing and wonderful people I have met thanks to book club. And C. How many interesting books we have read in a variety of genres thus far. It really has been incredibly special to spend one day a month with a few of my favorite people, eating, drinking, and talking about books. I can't wait to see what else we read this year.

4. It is pretty apparent that I am going to Brooklyn at least once a month these days. I made a return the first few days of February for a little weekend trip. I was there for less than 48 hours (my nightmare) but I was able to squeeze in seeing many friends of mine, as well as see my long time pals of nearly 10 years from across the pond play Music Hall of Williamsburg. Excuse the terrible, blurry photo - they are hard to catch still. They have a new album out, so you should give it a listen if you are interested!

And that's sort of it, in a nutshell. I'll be heading back to Brooklyn at the end of March so hopefully I can line up another BK post to share with you all. I'll be in Tennessee in April celebrating my dear friend's birthday. (We're going to Dollywood!) I've been busy party planning, and I'd like to share some DIYs I pull together for those events. I've also been committed to paying off at least one of my student loans before the end of this year. I've calculated it just so and have a good feeling it'll be paid off in the next few months. Hopefully nicer weather will come through soon so I'll be able to go on more adventures to share with you!
